AjaiArt 2011 Scholarship Announcement
The 2011 AjaiArt Scholarship has been established for Habitat for Humanity families. As some of you may know, I just recently finished paying off my HFH mortgage. When I was a single mom with three kids trying to make ends meet, HFH helped me get a house with a little sweat, a small down payment and manageable mortgage with a 0% interest loan. It’s time for me to pay it forward!!!
After getting in to my house, I realized that the answer to long term success was to go to school, but because I was self initiated and had assets, I couldn’t qualify for some types of financial aid. I did manage to get a BFA from Metropolitan State College of Denver and eventually an MA from the University of Denver, but it wasn’t easy and money was hard to come by! I want to help those in a similar situation have more options than I did.
Starting Spring Semester 2011, I will be awarding at least one $500 scholarship to at least one person meeting all requirements specified in this announcement. If you are interested in this scholarship, please follow all instructions and submit all required documents by the deadline.
Deadline and Eligibility
The deadline for applications is November 20, 2010 and all Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver family members are eligible to apply.

Fill out the application form online or download, print, complete and mail applications to the address above. Please include a copy of your transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable), and letter stating why you should be awarded this scholarship. If you are just starting college and do not have college transcripts, please send your high school transcripts for consideration.
